After we got back from the cruise we were really really sick. Oliver ended up getting two double ear infections back-to-back. Poor guy! :( I cannot even remember a time when I was sick this often.

I started doing home daycare with my cousin Alicia (she ended up going back to work). - I am now doing daycare at my home. And Oliver started walking just before he was 13 months.

Hmmmm! Yup, since the beginning of this year, I have been horrible at blogging. It just hasn't been my main priority. But since I know I have friends and family that like to see how we are doing I am going to try to do better the rest of the year.

So should I finish posting the rest of our cruise in January. - Well, why not! - So the first stop was Haiti. The cruise line Royal America owns a island off of Haiti so we stopped there. Since I started to get sick that (unfortunately I was sick most of the cruise) day, I did not get off on that stop.

The second stop the next day was Jamaica, maan! :) We (All of Ethan's immediate family) rented a van and went to a park that had great waterfalls and then we got a fun, craaazy ride around some of the mountainous parts of Jamaica on a one-and-a-half lane road at what felt like a 100 miles per hour.

I do not have as many photos from our second day at Disney World. Part of that might be because Eric and Lori were very sweet and volunteered to watch Oliver while Ethan and I went on several rides by ourselves. It was so much fun to spend the time at Disney World with family. We hope that it will work out to do it again.

Next we went on the animal safari ride. It was really
neat. They set it up so it felt like you were really out
in the wild. You could not see bars our cages around
the animals.

Well, this year has barely started and we are having our share of challenges. - As pretty much everyone is right now. We started out the year with a family (Anderson) Cruise. --So now matter how tough this year gets we started it out in style! :)
I feel that we haven't talked to so many of you, and I apologize. We have our friends and family in our thoughts and prayers and we hope all of you are doing well in this gift and struggle called... life.
Wow! Now that I have started this, our first blog entry for this year, out so seriously, I will first add photos from our trip to Disney World and our Caribbean cruise from the 25th of December to the sixth of January.

Oliver's 1st Birthday Party!
We had Oliver's first birthday party on the 13th of December. Oliver was taking a nap when people started arriving at 4pm. Grandma went up and brought him down for the party.
We had tostada stacks, a recipe that I found in a cookbook that my sister-in-law Lori gave me. It turned out to be a good idea. - I showed everyone what the cookbook photo looked like then they could make their own how they wanted. Originally we cut out small 3 inch circles out of large tortillas and baked them so that our guests could choose to put chicken or ground beef, tomatoes, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, tomatoes and sauce on their tostadas. I told everyone that I would then take a photo of each tostada stack and see whose looked the most like the photo in the cookbook. I was just kidding but I did end up taking some photos of the food.

Oliver really got into his cake - which was fun to watch. We had a red car pinata which we filled up with mini chocolate candy bars and toys.
Dad and Karlan were standing by each other one time and Zayden was a little confused at first, as to which one was his Grandpa -but he figured out. - He knows who Grandpa is! :)
Oliver's cousins didn't mind helping Oliver open his presents and help him break in his new toys.

My cousin Melynda came to Phoenix for a interview. She wants to get into PA (Physician's Assistant) school and there is a College here that she interviewed for on Friday. Then she stayed with us for the weekend. It was fun to have her visit, we really hope that she gets into the school so that we can see her all the time.

Our Trip to See Madalyn in California - November 6th - 12th
Since I was laid off at the end of October and don't have to work until January, Mom and I decided to make a trip out to see Madalyn .........and Aaron and Heather, of course. :)

Here are some photos that were taken within a week. From October 25th to November 2nd.

On the 25th of October (a Saturday) Ethan, Oliver and I went to some garage sales with my cousin Ryan, his wife Alicia and their kids, my Aunt Nancee and Alicia's Mom. We were looking for kids outside toys for our home daycare we are going to have. Afterwards we went to Denny's for breakfast.

When Oliver first started crawling he didn't get into things right away. Here (October 29th) I caught him getting into the pantry. - The mischief was just beginning!

On the 1st of November Oliver (at 10 months) actually eagerly took a pretzel and started to chew on it. Up until this point Oliver was indifferent to eating regular foods. - Maybe he will be half-way normal. - he he :)

On November 2nd Oliver and I went over to Brenda's apartment and hung out with her roomies.

Halloween

Hmmm! Well, this year Halloween didn't go quite as we planned. Originally Ethan and I were going to dress up for the costume contest my work puts on every year. As most of you know, I was laid off from my job the Thursday before Halloween. Ethan was not laid off, which was my first question when they were telling me that I was being laid off.

The good thing is that I was given a severance package that will keep us okay financially through the 1st week of January. I was planning on leaving my company in January to watch kids from home, so now I basically get paid to have a few months off with Oliver until I start to watch kids.

We ended up going trick r' treating with my cousin Ryan and his wife Alicia and their kids Kalab and Caden. The Grandma's also came along - my mom, Alicia's Mom and my Aunt Nancee. Oliver was a cute little monkey, but didn't last very long since his bedtime is usually around 7:30pm. We took him up to a few doors, just for fun. The highlight of the evening - well, for Mom anyway was the cotton candy one of the neighbors made in his driveway for trick r' treater's.

Mom and Dad Z Visit - October 22nd - 24th

Dad took Thursday and Friday off from work and came up with Mom Wednesday night when she came to watch Oliver.

On Thursday night Mom made Ethan's favorite meal - spaghetti, and we had Karlan and Joan over. After supper we played a game. Mom and Joan were disappointed because Oliver was tired and went to bed early for the night and they didn't get to see him much.

Friday night we met Joan, Karlan and Nancee at Chillies for supper, Mom and Dad drove home from there.

October Trip to California (10th - 13th)

We went to California to visit Heather, Aaron and Madalyn. Ethan and I had Columbus day off from work and since we hadn't seen Madalyn for over a month we just had to get to CA. We drove to California Friday night and left Monday afternoon.

Saturday we went to Bates Nut Farm. They had kind of a fair there, with hay and pony rides, food concessions and a pumpkin patch etc. Aaron's cousin Jerry, wife Carla and their kids met us at the farm.

Sunday we went to Special meetings and Monday we went out for breakfast, played tennis and some board games. Then we left around 3pm on Monday.

High School Football Game - September 26th
Ethan wanted to watch a local high school football game. So we went to the football game at a high school a mile away from us. Oliver loved it, there was so much to see. We stayed until around 9pm. - At that point it was quite obvious that the high school we were cheering on was going to win, the other team hadn't even scored one point. Guess we chose the right high school to cheer on. Woohoo! Oliver was wide awake the whole time but could not stay awake during the 5 minute ride home.

Crusssssin'

This is Oliver's new ride. He loves this car. Let me explain this better, he LOVES this car! :) When we put him in the car he sits up straight and acts like it is the only place he wants to be. When we take him around the neighborhood in his car he is completely still taking everything in. He could be fussy and tired and ready for a nap and if we put him in his car immediately he is quiet and ready to go. So I am sorry if there are way to many of the same car photos here, but I could not choose just one or two photos. Wow, I love this boy!!!

My Aunt Diane and cousin Tisha gave us a globe for Oliver when he was born. It is really neat, it plays music and has a rocking horse inside. Also it has Oliver's name etc. engraved on it. We decided to give it to Oliver and see what he thought. :)

The beginning of Oliver's crawling!

Yup, Oliver is officially crawling. He has been working up to it for about 2 months or so but didn't really get to moving forward in a crawl position until last week. In September I took a photo of him getting in the crawl position but he would go about half a crawl (step ?/!) and then flop on his tummy and scoot forward to get whatever toy he was reaching for. He has loved standing on his own for a while, and the last few days he has pulled himself up from a crawl to a standing position while holding on to the couch etc a few times. Maybe he will be one of those babies that walks not to much time after he crawls, time will tell. As for Mom and Dad, gone are the days were we could leave him somewhere and expect him to still be there 5 minutes later. sigh... :)

Kaleb's 1st B-Day Party - September 20th
Ryan and Alicia had a birthday party for Kaleb. They grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and had a jumping castle for the kids. They had friends and family over for the party. Alicia's sister was there and Karlan, Kara, Nicole, Aaron and Zayden etc. Oliver was a bit young for the jumping castle but he enjoyed watching the fish in the fish tank, and he even tried icecream. Zayden helped out with the presents - he is expert since he already had a birthday party! :)

Weekend Tucson Trip - 9.13.08

We hadn't been to Tucson for over a month so we decided to go again this weekend. This time we visited with some of our friends.
Friday night after work we drove down to Tucson. We stopped in at Jacob and Barbara's house. They now live close to my parents and we hadn't seen their new house yet.
Saturday - some girls (Taylor/?) that my Mom used to babysit were playing in soccer games at a park, so we went to see the girls. Also these girls' Mom (Megan) was my Tennis coach in high school. The girls loved Oliver and he didn't mind being passed from girl to girl.

On Sunday evening we went over to Melanie and Court's house. They had a bunch of people over for supper. Jeff & Stephanie, Donna & Jason, Doug & Melissa were all there, with all the kids of course. Also Jessica (my former roommate) was in town, so she was there also. I got to meet her daughter, Aunna for the first time. She is very adorable.

Trip to Denver, Colorado - August 13th - 20th
My Grandpa Rasmussen passed away August 10th. We had just got back home from visiting Heather and Aaron and Mom called us at around midnight. Grandpa had caught pneumonia in March but he had been doing better so it came as a surprise. I am just thankful that I got to know him really well, since he came to Tucson every winter since I was around 13 or so.

Thankfully our work gives us bereavement pay so that Ethan and I could both drive up to Denver to spend time with the family and go to the funeral and burial. I love what was mentioned at the funeral that family meant everything to Grandpa and that it wasn't so much what he did but what he didn't do. I am very thankful for Grandpa's example and I just want to keep true to the end.

Another Tucson Trip

We went to Tucson the weekend of August 1st to visit with LeAnn and Rex and to see Grandpa.
LeAnn and Rex wanted Grandpa to see Thor (Thor is named after Grandpa's Dad). It was great to see Grandpa and spend time with LeAnn, Rex and baby Thor. We see Rex and LeAnn at family get-togethers etc. but we have never really had much time to get to know each other. Rex and LeAnn spent all of Saturday with us (at Mom's house). We visited Grandpa and they taught us how to play this fun board game.
Then Sunday evening instead of going home we stayed in Tucson and went over to LeAnn's brother's (Doug) house and played the game over there. It was fun to spend time with Doug, Melissa and their daughter Naomi, who is only a few months older then Oliver.

Grandma Char's Visit
Grandma came to Phoenix to visit Oliver (I mean us - he he) on the 24th of July, her b-day! She said that coming to visit was her b-day present. After work I picked up Char from the airport and we drove home, where Ethan was watching Oliver (he had worked from home). We took Char out to the Cheesecake Factory for supper, but first we put Oliver in his new outfit that Grandma bought him, complete with sandals.

Friday we went to Rubios for lunch. Char had heard that they had good fish tacos, and they were very yummy! Then we went to Walmart and Grandma bought Oliver a froggy pool and we got him a floaty for the pool. Ethan and Grandma set up the froggy pool and then Oliver and Mom took a swim, (well, more like a dip) in it.

Saturday morning we went swimming in our neighborhood pool. Oliver liked his new floaty and the surf board but what he really liked most was the lifeguard preserver that was in the pool, of course kids bypass the things that we buy, for something that you don't have to pay for. :)
Then late in the afternoon we went over to Aaron and Nichole's for Zayden's 1st birthday party.
We had a great time at the party! Nichole's Dad made some wonderful food, the party decorations etc. were very cute and it was fun watching Zayden open his gifts, he got excited over every gift and wanted his parents to take all of them out of the packaging.

Monday Grandma got some alone time with Oliver while Ethan and I went to work. -Which means Oliver got spoiled (of course), he got to go swimming, and go for walks, and be held whenever he wanted to. :)

Monday evening Grandma treated us to pizza and we had dippin' dot ice cream.
Tuesday I worked from home half a day and then Oliver and I took Grandma to the airport. It was very quiet when we got back to house. - No Grandma :(

Chloe had a birthday pool party for her son on Saturday, and Ethan, Oliver and I went. We had bought Oliver some swim trunks at Toy's R Us so we were excited to see how his first pool experience would go. Oliver ended up being tired, so his first few expressions were not exactly that of joy. He really likes his baths so we thought he would really enjoy the water in the pool, but since he was tired he kind of just sat in the water with a half-awake expression. - We will just have to try it again another time.

After work on Friday, before Mom and Annette left for Tucson, we went to Mom's all time favorite fast food restaurant - Del Taco (luvs them churros). As Ethan and I were leaving we decided to go to Babies R' Us for a few things. Well, while we were there Ethan took Oliver over to an area where there were huge stuffed animals. One of them was a gigantic Cookie Monster, which Oliver seemed to love. We ended up getting Oliver a smaller version of the Cookie Monster because daddy said, "we can't show him the animals and not get him one." - Hmmm, looks like daddy cannot resist those big blue eyes. :)

My Aunt (Aunt Sharon) and her daughter Annette drove to Tucson to visit my Mom and Grandma and see how Grandpa is doing.
Since they were in Arizona for over a week, Annette came up with my Mom to help her watch Oliver etc. So we got to spend time with Annette. I wish I could have taken a day off but at least I got to see Annette after work.
Thursday night we went out for supper and Oliver kept us amused. He was laughing at everything and jumping around like a wild monkey while we held him. When we were driving home he kept giving Annette and Mom this funny face, so there was constant laughter from the backseat the whole ride home. What a comedian! :)

4th of July!

Originally Dad was going to California to visit Heather, Aaron and Madalyn on July 4th; But at the last minute Dad's company needed to send him and some co-workers to Germany, to work on the super 1st class section of some 5oo passenger planes and meet a tight deadline. So Heather and Aaron decided to go to Tucson. Yeaaaa! That means we got to see Madalyn again.

Heather wanted to surprise me by showing up at my door on Wednesday but she couldn't keep the surprise from me. I kept asking if she was coming and finally she told me she was. They showed up at our house late Wednesday evening. Thursday morning they drove down to Tucson with Oliver. Ethan and I got off work early, went home and packed and then drove down to Tucson.

We had fun spending time with Mom and Grandma. We visited Grandpa several times while we were there. Grandpa is doing really well. When we visited him he talked the whole time, joked around and seemed to really enjoy our company. He is having trouble with his right hand, and he told us he didn't care if he couldn't use his hand, all he wants to be able to do is walk out of there.

Madalyn is over a month old already and such a cutie! She seems to be a really good baby. Heather started doing tummy time with her from when she was only a few weeks old and she likes laying by herself. She is already taking everything in and making her own unique baby sounds.

Our Fun-Filled Weekend! :)

Yup, what we considered fun (way back when...)before we had Oliver is a bit different now. Now if we get a day off work and a full nights sleep we are having a blast! :)

We fed Oliver peas on Saturday and at first it was hard to determine if he liked them or not. He didn't spit the food out of his mouth but he coughed and coughed and wouldn't open his mouth without some prodding. - So it looks like it might take some time for him to get used to the texture.

Brenda and roomies moved from a condo to a house this weekend. Ethan and I went over to their condo to help them out a little. We ended up going to watch them play baseball. They are on a city league with some of the other friends. It was fun to get out of the house. Oliver loved watching everything around him.

Oliver turned 6 months today!
I cannot believe that Oliver is 6 months old today, time has flown so fast. Last night he slept horribly. He kept waking up Mom and Dad. I don't even think I got 4 hours of sleep last night. Oh well, that is the way it goes. Besides I am quite used to it by now.

Part of the reason Oliver got up last night was because he had rolled over on to his tummy and he didn't like it. He has been doing this during the day all the time, and what we would like is for him to learn to roll over to his back or learn to like being on his tummy. Well, this morning when Ethan and I woke up, Ethan went to check on Oliver and guess what, he had rolled over to his stomach and had fallen asleep. Yeaaa! Hopefully he does this from now on.

Some 5 Month Photos!
Oliver will be 6 months old on the 20th of June. Crazy how fast time goes by! Oliver rolls over all the time, but he isn't to the crawling stage yet, which I do not mind at all. We can wait!!! Oliver now has two teeth that officially peeked through his gums about a month ago. I am feeding him cereal, but he is not interested enough to eat it much. - That or I just get him at the wrong time, he seems tired or not hungry most of the time I try. We are going to try feeding him baby food soon. - Probably after his doctor's visit next week. We are taking Oliver's 6-month baby photos this weekend.

Madalyn Renea Myers has arrived!!!!

Madalyn was born Thursday the twenty-ninth of May at 12:56pm. She weighed 7 pounds 7 ounces and was 18 inches long. Heather called Mom right after Madalyn was born to tell her the happy news. Mom called me at work and said that she wanted to drive to California ASAP!! :)

Mom and I had discussed it and decided that we would drive out together when Heather had her baby. Luckily Mom had brought all her stuff with her when she came to Phoenix to watch Oliver on Wednesday evening. After work when I got home I packed and Mom, Oliver and I left at 6:30pm for California.

Oliver's First Trip!

In February Mom, Melynda (my cuz), Oliver and I went on a trip to California. Oliver was 2 months old. We left Wednesday afternoon and drove to Heather and Aaron's house. Oliver was very good! He slept the whole dive to Heather's.
I stayed with Heather until Friday evening and then Ethan drove out and picked Oliver and I up and we spent the weekend in Palm Springs with Grandma Char, Grandpa Elroy and Great Grandma Margaret and Great Grandpa Lowell.

Here are some of my favorite photos of Oliver from the 1st 4 months of his life! It has been so incredible to watch Oliver grow. Watching him go through all his firsts is so much fun. He is now 5 months and he started rolling over a week or so ago and he has been eating rice cereal for almost 2 weeks. At first I don't think much of the cereal actually stayed in his mouth, maybe he actually ate about 1/4 of the cereal that we fed him. But now he is learning to eat from a spoon and he is getting at least half of the cereal we feed him. Yeaay!

Christmas Day!
Oliver was less then a week old on Christmas day. Ryan & Alicia were having our family (Mom, Dad, Heather and Aaron) over for lunch. Dina, Glen and the kids were also going to be there. Even though I was physically exhausted I still wanted go since everyone was going to be there. We went for over two hours. It was fun to see Glen and Dina.

Char & Elroy came to visit Oliver about a week after he was born. We had a great time with them. We were very busy though. Char and Elroy were sure put to work while they were here! They were a BIG help! They helped Ethan pack our stuff to move to our new house. Char cooked meals, Elroy fixed some of our furniture and both Char & Elroy helped watch Oliver - which I think was no chore. :) When we moved into our new house they helped unpack some of our stuff.

We had a lot of help when we moved. My parents came up and my cousin Ryan let us use his huge trailer to move our stuff. Brenda and my cousin Kara also helped us pack up. After Ryan and Justin drove the trailer to our new house and all the boxes were brought into the house Aaron and Nichole came over and we had pizza and soda for everybody that helped. Nichole tried to tell me a joke and I told her at the time I had no sense of humor. After only two weeks of having Oliver I was still completely exhausted. Thanks to all the wonderful people that helped us move, I was able to just stare into space and take care of Oliver, while everyone moved us.

We were sad to see Char and Elroy leave but we were glad that we got to have them for about 9 days, what a treat!

Yup! I know I have not added photos to the blog since before Oliver was born, and the only photos of Oliver on the blog are the ones Ethan added right after he was born. So I am sorry, I have just been just a little bit busy so you will have to forgive me. Now that I am going to add photos of Oliver, I will probably add to many because I am a very very proud Mommy! :)

I will start with photos from the hospital. I feel that everything went really well with Oliver's birth. My water broke and then I went to the hospital so I did not have to wait around until the pain became unbearable. I went to the hospital all giddy and excited. It is funny because Wednesday the 19th I felt some pressure but that much. - My boss said you can't have the baby tomorrow because we have so much work to do, and then she said oh I probably shouldn't say that because then you will have the baby tomorrow.....and yup sure enough at 5am in the morning my water broke.

It was crazy because that night there were over 70 births in the hospital! That is way way over the usual amount so I did not get my own private hospital room at first and they wouldn't let Ethan spend the night the first night. I was very sad, but at least they gave me a private room the 2nd night and Ethan stayed with us that night.

Oliver is such a good baby, I am very lucky! He only cried one very short time when he was born and then didn't cry at all after that in the hospital, not even when they gave him a shot. Now he almost only cries when he has a reason, like if he is hungry or has an upset tummy.

The Family and a very tired and happy Mommy.

Oliver was born at 4:47PM , 7 lb 13 oz, 50 cm ~19 3/4 in.
Mom and baby are doing great. Labor was 12 hours staring at 5:00 AM.
Baby is very content cried twice. Once right after birth and when he got the two shots.
They were both very short.

The hospital kicked Dad out of the hospital (no place for dad to sleep in the room). So I am at home with Amy (Heidi's mom). I will drive back with Grandma in the morning. She is staying the night. Heidi is at the hospital (poor Heidi ... no Ethan to help). We expect her to be comming home tomorrow. That is all for now time to get some zzzzzz. ..... The Baby shower was on Saturday, November 17th. It was at my close friend Ginny's house. I am posting the photos a bit late but I was waiting to get them. I had a wonderful time. Mom and Heather came to Phoenix Friday night and stayed with Ethan and I through the weekend.
The shower was great! Heather brought the materials to paint onesies, which was the best idea. She brought the paints and white onesie's and they set up a table so people could go over and paint a onesie for the baby when they wanted to during the shower. There were some very talented artists.

Also we played several games such as the - guess what candy bar is in the diaper (yum, yum), how big is Mum and the clothesline game (how many clothes can you hang in a certain amount of time.

As you can see there were kids there.-So I got a lot of help opening presents! :)

On the Friday after Thanksgiving Heather, Aaron and Ethan and I met up with Jeff and the kids (Annika & Trevor) at a park in Tucson. Stephanie was suppossed to join us but she wasn't feeling well.

Thanksgiving at Mom and Dad's house!
We had Thanksgiving at Mom's house this year. Heather and Aaron were in Tucson all week and Ethan and I drove down Wednesday afternoon. Joan, Karlan and Kara came for Thanksgiving day.

The food was yummy and it was fun to spend time with our family. I am very excited for Heather and Aaron, it is neat that Heather and I are pregnant at the same time! Our kids will be only 6 months apart. Her due date is the first week of June.

Update on our house!

We went and looked at our house on Sunday the 1st of December. As you can see they have painted the stucco on the outside of the house and put in the light fixtures and put in the driveway and garage door.
In the inside they have put in the flooring, tile etc., except for the carpet, they have painted the walls, put in the cabinets and countertops etc.

So the newest on the house is that we have a walk through date scheduled for the 21st of December. They really want to close on the house before the new year. We would like to close in January, since we are paying rent through January on our apartment. The good thing is that we will have a whole month to move in! It's all so exciting! Yoohoo

9 Months Pregnant!!!

Can you believe it, I am already 9 months pregnant. I am still feeling really well, my tummy just gets really tight and heavy towards the evenings (and mornings and afternoons, he he), but other then that I have no complaints. It is hard to believe that we will be holding our baby in less then a month, unless I go over the due date 2 weeks (I hope not). We are sooo ready to hold our little guy! :)
I know my Mom is definitely ready to be a Grandma. Her only request is that I do not have the baby on the 21st when she has to go pick up Grandma and Grandpa R. - So I have put in the request to the little guy. - he he

I really have no idea if the baby will come early or late, I am hoping we will have some idea tomorrow when we see the doctor.

Tara Mathews had a Halloween party on Friday night at Dorcy's house and Ethan and I went. We had a great time, they had a pumpkin carving and cotton candy (My favorite :) etc. They also split us into groups and had us put on these short skits which were hilarious!
Addison (Dorcy's 5yr old son) became buddies with Ethan, he followed him around everywhere, wanting to do everything with him, Ethan was so good with him.-It was very cute! It just goes to show me what a great daddy Ethan is going to be.
Ethan did a good job carving his pumpkin so Addison wanted Ethan to carve him a pumpkin, and he didn't just want a face he wanted a character from the animation movie called Cars. I wasn't quite sure how Ethan was going to pull this off but he did. He carved a car on the pumpkin that Addison was so proud of that before we left he made sure that he got a photo of himself holding the pumpkin and with Ethan standing beside him! :)

Saturday (the 3rd) Ethan and I went to the housing development to fill out loan papers etc. We received a official letter from our developer saying that they anticipate the closing date of our house to be the 28th of December. Now isn't that great, a whole day after my due date.-Things are sure happening around the exact same time. Craziness! :)

While we were at the development we checked out our house. They have put the stucco on the outside of the house and they have put some kind of sealant on the drywall inside our house. The place is looking more and more like a house.

Every year at work we have a Halloween Party. I wasn't sure if I wanted to dress up this year but I ended up dressing up. - It is always a lot of fun! Last week we got a call from our builder Cornerstone to set up a date for the drywall inspection. We made the appointment for this Monday and we met them at the house at 7am for the inspection. The supervisor who went with us through the house for the inspection said that they are looking to have the house finished by December 20th. So it looks like we might be closing on the house in the beginning of January. We will definitely be able to move into the house in January, which is perfect because our last months rent at our apartment is January. Yeayyyy! We are really excited! :)

Where Melynda works

Our work gave us Columbus day off this year, so we decided to visit my cousin Melynda in Albuquerque. The air balloon festival happened to be that weekend also, so we got to go to that.

The balloon festival was fun but we were only half-awake because we arrived in Albuquerque at 1am Saturday morning and woke up at 4:15am to go to the balloon festival. We took a bus from a mall to the festival and saw hundreds of balloons go up in about an hour. It was very neat to watch.

We got to see where Melynda the Mad Scientist works in her lab at the University. We had a relaxing wonderful weekend with Melynda, all though I think we devoured all her food. -As a pregnant growing girl, I just had no choice I have to keep my ever growing baby happy! :)

This weekend was a blast! Mom and Dad Z. came up from Tucson for the weekend. Shortly after they came up Saturday afternoon we we drove to the housing development to show them the model of our house and to see what they have done on our house so far. Last time Ethan and I were at the house was with my cousin Melynda 3 weeks ago. We thought there wouldn't be much more done, so we were very excited to see that they had the framing up for our house already. We walked through the house and I could actually picture the finished house in my mind. Yeaaaaaa! We talked to someone at the site and they said that it looks like it will be finished around the middle of January. Which would be perfect! :)

After we saw the house we drove the 2 minute drive around the corner to Aaron and Nichole's house to see Zayden. He looks so adorable, he has grown so much since Ethan and I saw him six weeks ago.

Melynda's Visit!

My cousin Melynda came to visit this last weekend. She is working at the University of Albuquerque now, and because she is close she can get a inexpensive ticket through Southwest Airlines. We had a great time while she was here. She flew into Phoenix on Friday night and we went over to a get-together. Then on Saturday we played board games, went to the mall and drove to see Ethan and my new house which is getting built. Yup, they are finally starting to build our house. As you see in these photos they haven't done much yet but it is exciting that they have actually started. They have put in the plumbing and started working on the framing for the foundation.

So anyway, on Sunday while Melynda was here we went to Olive Garden for lunch after Sunday morning meeting, played some board games and then dropped Melynda off at the airport around 3:30pm. Melynda's visit went so fast it was hard to see her leave already, but one good thing is that we will see her next month when Ethan and I go up to visit her and go to the balloon festival.

I guess a big belly is cute if you know that the belly is big because of a baby. I don't think guys with big guts get as many compliments on their big belly's. -he he :)
So I am still feeling great, no complaints. I started feeling the baby move quite a bit this last week. Right now it just feels kind of funny but I hear the further along I get it might not be so cute, but I am enjoying it now.

Tucson!

Since Heather had this last week off from work because of the gall bladder surgery she had, she flew to Tucson to spend time with Mom. I hadn't seen Heather since I was only about 2 months pregnant so Heather wanted to see me and my baby belly. Ethan and I got off work early on Friday and drove down to Tucson. We stayed in Tucson until Monday afternoon.

Heather and I stayed up late Friday night chatting and then she flew out Saturday afternoon. It was great to see her, it was to bad the time went so fast.

Monday morning Ethan and I went over to Stephanie's house and Melanie came over with her kids and we got to visit for a while.

Another Ultrasound Appointment

The doctor wasn't able to get all the measurements at our last ultrasound appointment because our baby did not cooperate. So we went in again yesterday (August 28th) and we got to see our baby at almost 6 months along. The doctor told us that it looks like he has Ethan's nose, but how she came to that conclusion I am not quite sure. Anyway here is a photo of our boy's profile and his leg. Isn't he a cutie! :)

Nancee's B-day Bash!

The Zahorka's got together for supper at Fudruckers for Aunt Nancee's b-day Friday night (the 17th). We were visiting and forgot the time and ended up staying at Fudruckers for over two hours. Nichole and Aaron even brought Zayden for his first out-to-eat experience. He pretty much slept the whole time, even while we passed him around to hold. Zayden is a whole three weeks old!

Today was Brenda and Rachel's b-day! Katie, Kara, Rachel, Nathan, Brenda, Ethan and I went to PF Changs for the b-day celebration. Two wonderful girls born on the same day - could they be twins! Hmmmmm!

After supper we went over to the condo that Brenda and her roomates just starting living in and hung out and played some games.

We are having a boy!!!!

Ethan and I were just at our doctor's appointment and we had a ultrasound that showed us we are having a boy. We are sooooooo excited! Also with the Anderson family, our chances of having a boy were very high. Ethan's mom, Char, has two brothers she had four boys and all of her grandkids have been boys up until a year ago when Avery was born. Sooo he will have a bunch of Anderson boy cousins to play with. Now I can start buying outfits etc. that I just can't pass up when I see them in the store! :)

Aaron & Nichole's new baby!
Zayden Ray Zahorka was born on Friday the 27th of July at 3pm. He weighed 7 pds 3 oz. and was 20 inches long. Ethan and I visited them at the hospital Friday evening and Saturday evening. There is nothing better then going to a hospital to see a new baby! He slept most of the time we were there. I had a bunch of questions for Nichole since we were both had questions about the delivery process before she gave birth. Everything went quite well and Nichole and Aaron were both full of adrenaline and excitement from the whole experience.

Char's 50th Birthday Suprise!

Ethan and I went to Minnesota for his Mom's 50th suprise b-day party this last weekend. She was completely suprised, not only by the party but also because Ethan and I were there. We had a bunch of fun!

We also celebrated Grayson's 3rd birthday on Sunday while we were there and went to the zoo on Monday. It was great to see everyone since we won't be going to Minnesota until after the baby is born.

My Small Baby bump! - 3.5 months

Oh Baby!
Yes, Ethan and I are really excited about the new addition we are going to have to our family. Ethan and I do not care if we have a boy or a girl, either one will be great for us. We have received a bunch of predictions, more people think it will be a girl. In less than two weeks (July 31st) we will find out! - It seems like ages away, but it will get here before we know it.

When we were in Colorado for Elizabeth convention we stopped in Target and I bought my first purchase for the baby a T-shirt, it cost me a whole dollar. :)

Well, for those who live far away. Here are some photos of me and my bump or lack there of. In these photos I am just over three months along and unless I put my hand above and below my belly you really cannot tell that I am pregnant. I am sure that will change soon.
